Position Overview: The Senior Manager plays a crucial role in the Internal Audit team, focusing on the formulation and execution of the annual audit strategy. Key responsibilities include leading and executing audit assignments from inception to conclusion while mentoring junior team members; tracking the progress of corrective action initiatives; fostering and maintaining professional relationships both internally and externally; and delivering regular updates to principal stakeholders through comprehensive reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee or significantly participate in comprehensive audit and consulting projects, which encompass planning, testing, reporting, and monitoring of issues. Review the contributions made by the supporting audit manager throughout the audit process. Manage multiple activities to ensure projects are delivered within budget and on schedule. Consistently apply internal methodologies, industry standards, and best practices. Provide support for more complex audits as required.
- Assess business processes for deficiencies and vulnerabilities, recommending practical solutions where applicable. Identify opportunities to enhance processes and improve operational efficiencies. Collaborate with the global Internal Audit Department and other Assurance teams to minimize audit fatigue and identify potential overlaps in scope.
- Examine departmental documentation and audit workflows to pinpoint and report weaknesses in existing policies and practices related to audits and processes. Assist in the implementation of new policies and practices to address identified concerns and fortify processes.
- Cultivate relationships with internal business stakeholders to enhance the audit function's reputation and remain informed about enterprise-wide processes and controls, ensuring alignment with the overall strategy, risk appetite, and regulatory expectations. Where appropriate, leverage industry events to enhance external awareness of the company and the audit function.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the regulatory landscape affecting the company and its subsidiaries, remaining vigilant regarding departmental and business operations that present risks.
- Identify opportunities for data analysis by overseeing or conducting data analysis on assigned datasets or business areas, which may include operational effectiveness.
- Communicate effectively with key stakeholders regarding various audit activities, including audit coverage, plan status, scope, and findings.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- 8+ years of pertinent work experience.
Work Flexibility: This position allows for remote work up to two days a week.
