Job Overview

Position Summary: The CNC Machinist is responsible for interpreting blueprints and understanding tooling, fixturing, as well as speed and feed requirements. This role involves operating various CNC and manual machines, including lathes and mills, with a focus on producing parts that meet specified tolerances.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Execute all functions related to machine operation.
  • Set up and oversee the work of machine operators.
  • Conduct frequent setups and operations on CNC mills and lathes to ensure quality production based on specifications.
  • Perform setups and operations on specialized machinery.
  • Collaborate with clients to provide recommendations.
  • Carry out preventive maintenance tasks, including fluid level checks, filter and belt inspections, and visual assessments.
  • Address tooling challenges by evaluating productivity and performance, and determining new tooling needs.
  • Conduct routine dimensional and visual inspections of products using basic measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
  • Adhere to safety protocols related to machining, including the use of protective gear.
  • Demonstrate the ability to read, interpret, and analyze technical drawings.
  • Possess strong mathematical skills.
  • Exhibit effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proactively identify potential issues and seek solutions.
  • Follow both written and verbal instructions accurately.
  • Engage in process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate strong ethical standards.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with computer systems and file management.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously with strong time management skills.
  • Ability to handle stress professionally and work collaboratively with others.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a solid command of English grammar and punctuation.
