Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement curriculum within established guidelines and state licensing rules
  • Design and implement daily lesson/activity plans that promote child development and engagement
  • Supervise children, classroom, and activities to ensure a safe and healthy environment
  • Conduct ongoing observations and evaluations of each child to inform instruction and support their growth
  • Maintain positive relationships and effective communication with parents through regular conferences and volunteer engagement
  • Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the program site and equipment, reporting any needs or issues to maintenance and director
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date program records and paperwork

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with children in a developmental setting is preferred
  • Childcare degree or certification is required; experience may be considered in lieu of education
  • Ability to develop and implement engaging, age-appropriate program activities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with colleagues, parents, and children
