The Stateline Family YMCA is seeking a qualified Early Childhood Educator to join our team. As a key member of our childcare staff, you will be responsible for implementing curriculum, designing daily lesson plans, and ensuring the safety and well-being of our young students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement curriculum within established guidelines and state licensing rules
- Design and implement daily lesson/activity plans that promote child development and engagement
- Supervise children, classroom, and activities to ensure a safe and healthy environment
- Conduct ongoing observations and evaluations of each child to inform instruction and support their growth
- Maintain positive relationships and effective communication with parents through regular conferences and volunteer engagement
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the program site and equipment, reporting any needs or issues to maintenance and director
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date program records and paperwork
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with children in a developmental setting is preferred
- Childcare degree or certification is required; experience may be considered in lieu of education
- Ability to develop and implement engaging, age-appropriate program activities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with colleagues, parents, and children
