System One is seeking a highly skilled SQL Database Administrator to join our team in a long-term, hybrid-onsite opportunity. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for ensuring the performance, integrity, and security of our databases.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Database Administration: Administer, maintain, develop, and implement policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of our company database.
  • Database Performance: Perform database administration tasks, including backup, recovery, performance tuning, and space management using Microsoft SQL Server and related technologies.
  • Database Security: Implement and oversee database policies and procedures to ensure the integrity and availability of databases and their accompanying software.
  • Strategic Planning: Assess and develop long-term strategic goals for production databases in conjunction with data owners and department managers.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with IT managers, DBAs, and software developers to ensure seamless database operations.
  • Problem-Solving: Respond to and resolve database access and performance issues.
  • Database Monitoring: Monitor database system details within the database, including stored procedures and execution time, and implement efficiency improvements.
  • Storage and Recovery: Ensure that storage, archiving, backup, and recovery procedures are functioning correctly.
  • Research and Development: Conduct research and make recommendations on database products, services, protocols, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience in database administration, information technology, database architecture, or a related field.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server and related Microsoft technologies.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database problems.
  • Experience with data management and data processing flowcharting techniques.
  • Knowledge of database design and scripting using SQL.
  • Familiarity with database security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring standards.
  • Familiarity and experience with Azure SQL a plus.
  • Must be detail-oriented and logical.
