Astound Broadband Powered by Wave is seeking a skilled Construction Specialist I, II, or III to join our team. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for performing various installation and construction tasks to ensure the delivery of high-quality services to our customers.
Key Responsibilities- Installation and Construction: Perform basic installation of all necessary cable wiring (interior and exterior) and hardware from the tap to the customer's equipment for the reception of cable and other company services.
- Project Management: Assist in construction projects including relocations, new developments, multi-dwelling units, commercial, and residential projects.
- Quality Control: Perform all work as necessary to conform to quality control guidelines, including compliance with requirements outlined in applicable regulations such as OSHA, FCC, and NEC, etc.
- Traffic Control: Establish traffic control setups for various lane configuration scenarios as necessary to complete job responsibilities.
- Utility Locating: Familiarity with and experience using utility locating devices.
- Construction Functions: Hands-on experience related to various construction functions including cable and molding placement, splicing, conduit placement, asphalt, concrete, and grass restoration.
- Mapping and Computer Skills: Experience with and ability to read industry-standard mapping such as AutoCAD and GIS. Familiarity with basic computer skills such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and Google.
- Equipment Operation: Experience with and ability to load and unload a construction trailer, fiber & coax reel trailers. Experience and ability to run small excavating equipment, shovel, hole hog, tow-behind air compressor, and various other small tools and equipment related to industry-standard construction projects.
- Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with basic knowledge and aptitude in electronics; previous experience utilizing mechanical and/or technical capacity preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of one year in telecommunications or related field preferred. Ability to read and comprehend RF/fiber design and underground infrastructure drawings.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills necessary to interact with customers, property managers, building engineers, City and governmental entity representatives.
- Physical Demands: Ability to perform duties at heights of up to 40'. Frequently lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. Able to work within the specifications, limitations, and confines of a ladder.
