Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Lead Architect, Security Engineering to build NewsBreak's security platform and ensure alignment with industry standards and best practices.

The successful candidate will develop and execute the overall security engineering strategy, oversee the design and implementation of security architectures, and lead the design, implementation, and management of security infrastructure and policies.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of modern cloud architecture, experience in developing, implementing, and monitoring information security operations, and knowledge of information security management frameworks.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and executing the overall security engineering strategy aligned with the organization's goals.
  • Overseeing the design and implementation of security architectures, including networks, systems, and applications.
  • Leading the design, implementation, and management of security infrastructure and policies.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant security standards, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Identifying, assessing, and mitigating security risks across the organization's technology environment.
  • Collaborating with executive leadership to ensure security strategies support business objectives.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a relevant field.
  • 10+ years of experience in a security engineering or similar role, with at least 4+ years in a technical leadership/architect role.
  • Experience in developing, implementing, and monitoring information security operations.
  • Solid understanding of modern cloud architecture in AWS, Kubernetes, etc.
  • Knowledge of information security management frameworks, such as ISO 27001, CIS 20, or NIST, SOC2.
  • Solid understanding of key data protection regulations, including GDPR and CCPA.
  • Experience in collaborating with XFN partners, including R&D, Legal, Trust, and Safety, etc.
  • Strong communication skills with a can-do attitude and a strong sense of ownership.
  • Passion for startup culture is a plus.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $190,000—$260,000 USD. Pay may vary based on a number of factors, including job-related skills, level, experience, geographic location, and relevant education or training.
