Accounting Leadership Opportunity at TCI Transportation

We are seeking a seasoned accounting professional to lead our financial reporting and business analytics teams. As Vice President of Accounting, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the accounting function, including financial reporting, business analytics, and risk management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the accounting team to ensure timely, accurate, and actionable financial reporting
  • Collaborate with operations and senior management to improve financial and operational performance
  • Maintain efficient and effective accounting practices, including internal control structures and data collection and reporting
  • Coach and mentor team members to improve financial acumen and drive profitable operations
  • Support external accounting and tax firms, including requested schedules and recommendations on dividends and distributions
  • Manage hiring, development, and retention of financial transaction teams
  • Review and generate general ledger transactions for TCI Property Management Companies, Holding Companies, and Trust Related entities

Risk Management and Insurance Relationships:

Lead role in supporting the Risk Management Program to optimize insurance coverage for all aspects of the TCI Companies

Responsible for various aspects of Corporate Governance across multiple legal entities, including support for State Annual Report filings, BOD Minutes, intercompany agreements, etc.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Four-year degree in Accounting or Finance, plus CPA and/or MBA
  • 10+ years of experience in audit, accounting, and finance leadership
  • Solid understanding of GAAP accounting principles and practices, and the fundamentals of financial reporting and analysis
  • Advanced level of system acumen and experience across multiple ERP Platforms
  • Excellent business acumen and experience in business strategy development and execution
  • Passion for building organizational talent and improving overall financial acumen
