Job Description

This position is located in Norman, Oklahoma, and offers a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children and families.

Oklahoma Human Services is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as a Resource Family Specialist. As a key member of our Child Welfare team, you will be responsible for providing day-to-day operations, planning, and oversight of foster care and adoption activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver in-home support and social work services for families applying or approved for adoption or foster care.
  • Provide training and consultation to foster families and other placement providers.
  • Complete family assessments and reassess annually.
  • Review child's history and coordinate placement of children.

Requirements:

Child Welfare Specialist, Level I

  • Completion of 90 hours from an accredited college or university.
  • OR 3 years of experience related to child welfare work.
  • OR a combination of education and experience.

Child Welfare Specialist, Level II

  • A bachelor's degree (in any field) to qualify.
  • OR one year of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist.

Child Welfare Specialist, Level III

  • A Master's degree.
  • OR a Bachelors Degree plus one year of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist.
  • OR Two years of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist.

Benefits:

Annual Salary: Level I H23A - $37,000, Level II H23B - $40,000, Level III H23C - $43,000.

Applicants who possess a Master's Degree in Social Work will be entitled to a salary incentive of an additional 5%.

On-call positions will receive an additional bonus ranging from $100 to $150 every two weeks, depending on responsibilities.

Travel is extensive, and a valid driver's license and required car insurance are necessary. State vehicles will be available for use to carry out the duties of the position.
