Job Summary
We are in search of a skilled ophthalmic imaging specialist with substantial experience. The ideal candidate will be responsible for executing advanced ophthalmic imaging and diagnostic services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducts ophthalmic imaging using specialized equipment, including but not limited to: ocular fundus imaging systems (FA, ICG), Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), OPTOS, fundus photography, red-free imaging, deep red imaging, stereoscopic imaging, and autofluorescent imaging.
- Captures medical images of the eye to document conditions, surgical procedures, treatments, and congenital issues, assisting ophthalmologists in the diagnosis and management of ocular disorders.
- Observes and records patient conditions and responses during imaging procedures for Fluorescein Angiography (FA), documenting findings in electronic medical records (EMR) and alerting physicians as necessary.
- Responsible for acquiring pre-procedural consent forms and related documentation.
- Assists in the archiving and storage of images, addressing any issues related to image capture.
- Identifies and troubleshoots problems with photographic and diagnostic equipment, performing minor adjustments and preventive maintenance as per established protocols, and notifying supervisors of any significant malfunctions.
- Prepares materials for presentations, publications, lectures, and exhibitions as requested.
- Maintains an inventory of supplies, ensuring adequate stock for patient care and collaborating with supervisors for timely orders. Confirms the accuracy of received supplies.
- Ensures patient safety is prioritized at all times.
- Maintains a clean and sterile environment, adhering to infection control standards and HIPAA regulations.
- May provide training and education to others on ophthalmic imaging techniques and protocols.
- Obtains and maintains necessary certifications for research studies.
- Stays updated with training as new imaging modalities and technologies are introduced.
- Ensures compliance with study protocol guidelines for image certification and submissions.
- Follows all study protocol guidelines during patient visits.

Vitreous Retina Macula Consultants of New York (VRMNY) is a leading institution in the diagnosis and treatment of retinal diseases, committed to delivering exceptional patient care through a collaborative team approach. We are recognized as the largest retina practice in the New York Metropolitan area.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an ophthalmic photographer is required.
- Proficiency in F/A, ICG angiograms, Topcon cameras, Heidelberg OCT, OPTOS, fundus photography, red-free imaging, deep red imaging, stereoscopic imaging, and autofluorescent imaging is essential, along with a solid understanding of eye anatomy.
- Experience in Ophthalmology: 3-5 years (Required), with a focus on Retina being advantageous.
- Phlebotomy Certification is a plus.
- Current Retinal Angiographer Certification is required, along with any additional specialized certifications as necessary.
- An Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience is required.
