Job Title: Ophthalmic Technician

Northwell Health is seeking a skilled Ophthalmic Technician to join our team. As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and assisting our professional staff with examinations and minor surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform initial examinations of patients, including assessing visual acuity, obtaining medical/ophthalmic history, and measuring optical power.
  • Conduct diagnostic and other ophthalmic testing procedures, such as ultrasonography, perimetry, and biometry.
  • Schedule patient appointments and maintain accurate records and statistical data.
  • Maintain and calibrate equipment and supplies in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Assist professional staff with examinations and minor surgery, including instructing patients on physician's orders.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Ophthalmic Technician certification, preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years full-time Ophthalmic Technician experience.
