Advanced EMT/Emergency Medical Technician Position

Job Summary:
As an Advanced EMT/Emergency Medical Technician with Penn State Health, you will be responsible for responding to emergencies, assessing patients, and providing treatment in accordance with PA DOH Basic & Advanced EMT standard curriculum. You will also transport patients according to established protocols and assist Advance Life Support (Paramedic) providers with patient care management.
Responsibilities:
- Respond to emergencies and assess patients
- Provide treatment in accordance with PA DOH Basic & Advanced EMT standard curriculum
- Transport patients according to established protocols
- Assist Advance Life Support (Paramedic) providers with patient care management
- Perform non-emergency routine medical transports utilizing ambulances and wheelchairs vans
- Follow up with complete appropriate documentation
Requirements:
- Basic life support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers Program CPR/AED certified
- Current certification as an Advanced EMT in the Commonwealth of PA or eligible for and completion of reciprocity if certified in another state
- Valid Driver's license required or eligible for a Commonwealth of PA driver's license if out of state
- PA DOH EMSVO certification within 30 days of start date
- HazMat Awareness Training and NIMS (100, 200, 700, 800) required within 30 days of start date
- Must obtain Medical Command within 90 days of start date
Preferred Qualifications:
- Six (6) months of Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) experience preferred
