Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Emergency Medical Technician to join our team at Penn State Health. As an EMT, you will be responsible for responding to emergencies, assessing patients, and providing treatment in accordance with PA DOH Basic Life Support standard curriculum.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to emergencies and assess patients to determine the level of care required
  • Provide treatment in accordance with PA DOH Basic Life Support standard curriculum
  • Transport patients according to established protocols
  • Assist Advance Life Support (Paramedic) providers with patient care management
  • Perform non-emergency routine medical transports utilizing ambulances and wheelchairs vans
  • Document patient care and treatment in accordance with established protocols
Requirements
  • Basic life support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers Program CPR/AED certified
  • Current certification as an EMT in the Commonwealth of PA or eligible for and completion of reciprocity if certified in another state
  • Valid Driver's license or eligible for a Commonwealth of PA driver's license if out of state
  • PA DOH EMSVO certification within 30 days of start date
  • HazMat Awareness Training and NIMS (100, 200, 700, 800) required within 30 days of start date
Preferred Qualifications
  • Six (6) months of Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) experience
