Job Summary

Penn State Health is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Per Diem EMT/ER Technician to join our team. As a key member of our emergency medical services team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and responding to emergencies with expertise and compassion.

Responsibilities
  • Respond to emergencies and assess patients to provide timely and effective treatment
  • Provide transportation to patients according to established protocols and assist Advance Life Support (Paramedic) providers with patient care management
  • Perform non-emergency routine medical transports utilizing ambulances and wheelchairs vans and ensure complete and accurate documentation
Requirements
  • Basic life support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers Program CPR/AED certification
  • Current certification as an EMT in the Commonwealth of PA or eligible for and completion of reciprocity if certified in another state
  • Valid Driver's license or eligible for a Commonwealth of PA driver's license if out of state
  • PA DOH EMSVO certification within 30 days of start date
  • HazMat Awareness Training and NIMS (100, 200, 700, 800) required within 30 days of start date
Preferred Qualifications
  • Six (6) months of Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) experience preferred
