POSITION SUMMARY: This role is integral to advancing the mission of V R Della Infotech Inc by delivering prescribed medications and pharmaceutical care in accordance with established professional standards.
SUPERVISION: Reports directly to the Pharmacy Director and the Pharmacist in Charge.
SHIFT: Full-time, Day shifts.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS: A degree in Pharmacy from an accredited institution recognized by the American Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) is required, along with a valid pharmacy license obtained through successful completion of the licensure examination. A PharmD is preferred. A minimum of three years of experience in a retail pharmacy setting is desirable. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential. A current license to practice pharmacy in the relevant state is mandatory.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Deliver specialized pharmaceutical services aimed at enhancing medication usage and therapeutic outcomes.
- Advise healthcare professionals on drug therapy, including potential side effects and appropriate dosing.
- Oversee the preparation and dispensing of medications, ensuring compliance with all legal requirements.
- Maintain collaborative relationships with medical and nursing staff, providing timely information regarding pharmaceuticals and therapeutic options.
- Conduct medication reviews to assess patient compliance and outcomes, recommending adjustments as necessary.
- Educate patients on the proper use of medications and participate in patient care rounds with physicians.
- Ensure proper storage and security of medicinal products in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Respond to inquiries regarding medications from various stakeholders.
- Adhere to strict confidentiality standards in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Stay updated on advancements in drug knowledge and healthcare practices.
- Contribute to the development of guidelines for drug use within the organization.
- Mentor pharmacy students and other healthcare professionals in training.
WORKING CONDITIONS: This position is primarily indoors in a smoke-free, climate-controlled environment. There may be exposure to unpleasant odors, liquids, and chemicals. The role requires frequent interaction with patients, healthcare providers, and staff from various departments.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The role may involve sitting, standing, and walking, with occasional lifting and carrying of objects. Staff may be required to wear protective equipment when necessary.
SHIFT: 40 hours per week, with a rotating Saturday schedule.
