Position Overview
This role is being advertised on behalf of Harris Rebar Placing LLC, a division of Nucor Rebar Fabrication. The successful candidate will oversee the Field Operations at the Branch, providing strategic leadership and fostering the development of managers, supervisors, and future leaders while collaborating with the Branch Manager and team to meet strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
• Champion a culture of safety within the branch and region, exemplifying safety leadership through a committed approach to the well-being of all employees, including those in the office, fabrication, and placing.
• Ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures established by Nucor Rebar Fabrication's Safety Team.
• Communicate safety and production requirements to contractors and customers effectively.
• Plan work in advance, ensuring that necessary labor, tools, and equipment are readily available.
• Collaborate with the Branch Manager and other department heads to identify growth opportunities within the market.
• Work closely with the Branch Manager and team to ensure the effective execution of the Rebar Contractor Strategy.
• Partner with branch and department managers to devise suitable detailing, fabrication, and installation strategies that ensure safety and profitability for the branch.
• Foster and maintain long-term customer relationships alongside the Branch Manager and team.
• Implement a sales and bidding strategy that promotes the 'Rebar Contractor Model' Supply and Install package.
• Share best practices with peers and assist in the implementation of successful strategies across branches.
• Review safety and production metrics on all projects to identify areas for improvement and assist in implementing necessary changes.
• Maintain open communication with the Branch Manager regarding safety, bidding, awards, productivity, and profitability within your department.
• Collaborate with the Branch Manager to develop a succession plan and training programs for team members with potential for growth.
• Mentor Supervisors/Foremen and other key team members, motivating them to achieve Nucor Rebar Fabrication's vision and values.
• Work with the billing department to ensure all billable items are accounted for and invoiced appropriately.
• Clearly communicate company policies and procedures to your department, ensuring adherence.
• Assist the Branch Manager in creating an annual budget that aligns with market share objectives for the branch.
• Cultivate relationships within the local construction and business community alongside the Branch Manager.
• Develop and maintain a positive relationship with the local Ironworker's International Union Local.
• Perform additional duties as assigned or required.
Qualifications
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in Rebar Installation, with at least 5 years in pricing installation.
• At least 5 years of supervisory experience, including pricing and managing work.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the Reinforcing Steel Market.
• At least 5 years of experience with Post Tensioning.
Preferred Qualifications
• STSC Certification.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Additional Information
• Frequent travel and job site visits are required.
• Protective equipment such as safety boots, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, hard hats, and armguards must be worn on-site.
• Work hours may extend beyond the standard business day.
Physical Requirements
• Typical office activities including walking, sitting, standing, and bending.
• Using hands to operate tools, computers, and other electronic devices.
• Lifting and handling of computers and related equipment.
• Vision capabilities including close vision and focus adjustment.
• Moderate noise levels are expected.
