PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Logistics Management Technician utilizes extensive technical expertise to deliver logistics management solutions for the Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory (PMEL).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Oversee the Material Control, Scheduling, Shipping, and Supply operations within the PMEL.
- Coordinate the scheduling of all incoming Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) as specified in the Technical Orders (TO) and Performance Work Statement (PWS).
- Manage the transportation of TMDE to and from external clients, ensuring all necessary documentation is prepared for shipments.
- Create and maintain both digital and manual records for parts and equipment requests associated with PMEL.
- Regularly monitor TMDE that is delayed or deferred, ensuring timely follow-ups.
- Keep track of projected workloads and inform the PMEL Manager of any significant changes to the monthly schedule.
- Implement actions to reduce overdue TMDE.
- Conduct training for TMDE Coordinators.
- Provide on-base pick-up and delivery services as required.
- Order and track parts necessary for TMDE repairs, updating customers on any delays.
- Perform duties as assigned by the PMEL TODO.
- Research parts and equipment requests using available resources before submitting to base supply.
- Maintain and oversee equipment storage areas.
- Utilize the PMEL Automated Management System (PAMS) for logging parts requests and updating TMDE statuses.
- Monitor and manage PMEL bench stock, ensuring compliance with shelf life requirements.
- Organize and oversee the work center shop stock, including inventory preparation.
- Process documentation for issuing kits related to Time Compliance Technical Orders (TCTO).
- Administer the PMEL Hazardous Waste Management program, acting as the liaison with the Base Hazardous Waste Management program.
- Manage PMEL Satellite Accumulation Points, ensuring proper handling of hazardous materials.
- Oversee the PMEL Precious Metals Program, ensuring compliance with supply protocols.
- Prepare and distribute monthly TMDE calibration schedules for review and approval.
- Inspect and maintain company-owned vehicles.
- Conduct visual inspections of TMDE at the Owning Work Center (OWC) and ensure all required documentation is present.
- Collaborate with various depots and PMELs to coordinate external repair and calibration support for TMDE.
- Review resource availability and communicate with the PMEL Manager regarding necessary adjustments to repair and calibration schedules.
- Input accurate data into the TMDE Master ID file using PAMS.
- Instruct TMDE Monitors on repair and calibration procedures as needed.
- Process equipment received from external calibration and maintenance services.
- Perform additional related duties as required to support organizational needs.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position carries the responsibility and authority to execute assigned tasks, with no supervisory duties assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
- Comprehensive understanding of the US Air Force Metrology and Calibration Program.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; willingness to learn additional software applications.
- Ability to utilize the PMEL Automated Management System for accurate data entry.
- Capability to interpret safety regulations and operational manuals.
- Proficient in generating routine reports and correspondence.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with customers and management.
- Excellent technical writing skills for clear communication.
- Proficient in using general office equipment.
- Ability to adhere to established processes.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
- A minimum of four (4) years of relevant PMEL or calibration technical experience.
- Must meet background check criteria and be eligible for security clearance.
- Documentation of equipment and area discipline qualifications is required.
- Proven track record of quality as a calibration technician is essential.
