Job Responsibilities

  • Perform structural engineering tasks associated with on-shore steel and reinforced concrete structures, including retaining walls, junction boxes, water and wastewater plants, bulkheads, bridges, and similar structures.
  • Interpret and apply applicable codes, exercising judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation of standard structural engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
  • Supervise structural engineering interns, EITs, designers, technicians, and engineers.
  • Conceptualize the initial design approach for a major phase of a large project or have overall responsibility for the engineering work on a project of limited scope.
  • Coordinate with project managers for infrastructure projects to define scopes of services, schedules, deliverables, standards, and other project requirements.
  • Plan, schedule, conduct, or coordinate engineering work involving conventional practices but may include complex features such as conflicting design requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas.
  • 10+ years of experience in structural engineering design for infrastructure projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise subordinates performing structural engineering analysis, design, and contract document preparation.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with the design of bridges and water/wastewater, drainage, highway, marine, rail, and airport structures is a plus.
