Position Overview
The Department of Nursing at North Carolina Central University is dedicated to addressing the growing demand for skilled healthcare professionals both locally and globally. Primary Responsibilities
The Assistant Professor of Clinical Nursing will be responsible for delivering nursing education and developing instructional resources tailored to their designated area. Key duties include:

  • Providing comprehensive classroom and clinical instruction.
  • Assessing and mentoring student academic performance.
  • Evaluating student clinical competencies based on established standards and course objectives.
  • Advising students on academic pathways and offering both formal and informal instruction.
  • Engaging in original research and course development.
  • Participating in various departmental and community committees.

Required Qualifications
Applicants should demonstrate a commitment to diversity and inclusion, possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and exhibit strong analytical abilities. Candidates must have a minimum of three years of clinical experience in pediatric nursing and three years of teaching experience in the same field. A Master's or PhD in a relevant discipline is required.

Licensure
Candidates must hold an unrestricted RN license in North Carolina.
