System Administrator Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Systems Administrator to join our managed services team at Constellation Search Group.

The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and upgrade Microsoft Windows server operating systems and applications.
  • Install and configure Microsoft Windows server operating systems and applications.
  • Establish and maintain documentation of customer environments.
  • Maintain customer's inventory of technological devices and document appropriately.
  • Work with outside vendors as needed on a per customer basis.
  • Maintain backup systems for customers.
  • Recommend software and hardware enhancements for any changes or upgrades to a customer environment.
  • Diagnose and correct computer systems issues as dispatched by the Managed Services Supervisor and appropriately document and close linked call.
  • The job may require flexibility to coordinate with other schedules and may require work after normal business hours.
  • Complete escalated calls from lower support tiers.
  • The job may also require support in the field at customer locations.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or IT with MIS experience and/or a minimum of 10 years serving a high-level capacity of client network services (or equivalent).
  • MCSA in the Server practice strongly preferred.
  • MCSA in Virtualization, O365, Azure strongly preferred.
  • SQL knowledge not required but happily accepted.
  • Advanced understanding and experience with Microsoft Exchange (2016, 2019, O365), Microsoft Server (2012 R2, 2016, 2019), Microsoft Windows OS (10 & 11), and Network Management and Administration in the SMB market.
  • Advanced understanding of HyperV and/or VMware.
  • Strong understanding of external internet service providers (ie: telephone and internet providers).
  • Advanced knowledge of anti-virus software, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and other network security measures.
  • Strong level of knowledge and experience with the maintenance and recovery of backup and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Strong communication skills, team player, self-motivated, comfortability with managing a project, and keen attention to detail all required.
