Counselor Behavioral Health Specialist

About the Role
Banner Health is seeking a dedicated Counselor to join our Behavioral Health team at the University Medical Center Phoenix. As a Counselor, you will play a vital role in providing clinical assessment and direct psychotherapy services to individuals, families, and groups.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide assessment and direct psychotherapy to individuals, families, and groups, coordinating all aspects of patient care from admission to discharge.
- Collaborate with the patient in the development of a written treatment plan, including patient and family involvement in assessment, treatment, education, and discharge planning.
- Monitor patients on an ongoing basis to continually assess needs and facilitate treatment and interventions, documenting clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment plan, diagnostic summaries, and progress charting in a timely manner.
- Actively participate as a member of the multidisciplinary treatment team and maintain effective working relationships with physicians and peers.
- May provide clinical updates to representatives of managed care to assure coordination and reimbursement of treatment services.
Requirements
- Master's degree in counseling, behavioral health, or a related human services discipline.
- Behavioral Health Licensure, preferably a License in Clinical Social Work (LCSW).
- Minimum of 1 year of professional experience in a behavioral health setting.
- Aptitude for catering to a diverse adult patient population.
