Peak Potential Therapy LLC is on the lookout for compassionate, reliable, and enthusiastic individuals to take on the role of Behavioral Support Technician (BST) working with children with unique needs under the guidance of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
We have several openings for BSTs to deliver tailored academic, behavioral, and emotional assistance to clients facing challenges. As a BST at Peak Potential Therapy, you will serve as a one-on-one instructor, responsible for the daily execution and teaching of the client's educational and behavioral plans. Our programming is rooted in the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), and all BSTs are required to be trained in these methodologies and implement them consistently during client interactions.
Certification as a BST is mandatory upon hiring. Additionally, all BSTs must obtain CPR certification within 30 days of employment.
Key Responsibilities
As a BST, you will be expected to follow the directives of the BCBA, collect data on ABA program objectives, and IEP goals. Engage in diverse activities aimed at enhancing the children's skills in social, cognitive, communication, self-care, and more.
- Build and maintain a therapeutic rapport by establishing yourself as a positive reinforcement and enhancing the client's appreciation for social interactions.
- Encourage safe and socially acceptable alternative behaviors to develop communication, social interaction, and problem-solving abilities.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance service delivery effectiveness.
- Fulfill any additional responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
- Communicate with parents by providing updates on daily activities, toileting, eating habits, and any behavioral incidents.
- Guide parents and educators on program implementation.
- Prepare individualized activity schedules for the upcoming day.
- Document client session notes.
- Organize individual reinforcers.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workspaces and common areas.
- Participate in the required monthly supervision sessions with the BCBA and attend any additional meetings necessary to meet supervision criteria.
- Keep RBT supervision documentation in accordance with BACB standards.
Qualifications and Skills
- Preferred: At least 2 years of college education.
- Required: Background checks (BCI and FBI).
- Required: RBT certification.
- Required: CPR certification within 30 days of employment.
