About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Attorney to join our State Farm Law Department in Bala Cynwyd, PA. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering legal services in an objective and unbiased manner, providing outstanding legal services that are in the best interest of State Farm and its policyholder group.

Responsibilities
  • Handle cases involving claims with high financial exposure and complexity, including cases involving complex medical issues, catastrophic injuries, or sensationalized accident facts.
  • Conduct depositions and present expert testimony in trial, utilizing automation systems and tools to effectively and efficiently present cases in the courtroom.
  • Assist in the supervision and development of assigned support staff, mentor other attorneys, and provide guidance on varied and complex legal issues and administrative matters.
  • Actively engage in the development of others, including teaching classes or seminars to claims or peers, and contribute to office improvement by engaging and responding to Excellence in Operations Management (EOM) dialogues and activities.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of personal injury experience, preferably in insurance defense.
  • Jury trial experience and arbitration, deposition, and discovery experience are ideal.
  • Must be able to handle an inventory of 70+ files and possess excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • J.D. from an A.B.A. Accredited Law School, in the top half of graduating class, and an active member in good standing of the Bar in the state of operation.
  • Must have an active law license to practice in Pennsylvania and be a member in good standing with the State Bar of Pennsylvania.
