About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Attorney to join our State Farm Law Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering legal services in an objective and unbiased manner, in accordance with the attorneys' ethical and professional standards.

Responsibilities
  • Handle cases involving claims with high financial exposure and complexity, including those with complex medical issues, catastrophic injuries, or sensationalized accident facts.
  • Conduct depositions and present expert testimony in a skilled and effective manner.
  • Work autonomously with minimal supervision and align with management as a partner in decision-making.
  • Prepare detailed and concise reports on complicated cases, reflecting in-depth analysis and proposed strategy for further handling.
  • Assist in the supervision and development of assigned support staff, mentor other attorneys, and serve as a resource person on varied and complex legal issues and administrative matters.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of personal injury experience, preferably in insurance defense.
  • Jury trial experience is preferred.
  • Arbitration, deposition, and discovery experience is ideal.
  • Must be able to handle an inventory of 70+ files.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong technology skills, including automation systems and tools.
