Machine Operator 3 Job Summary

BlueScope Buildings North America is seeking a skilled Machine Operator 3 to join our team. As a key member of our manufacturing department, you will be responsible for operating complex equipment with computerized controls to fabricate materials.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate Equipment with Precision: Read and interpret blueprints and diagrams to operate a variety of equipment involved in daily manufacturing processes.
  • Configure Machines for Optimal Performance: Perform computer downloads containing specifications that direct the machine to operate efficiently.
  • Ensure Quality Control: Monitor the quality of finished products and materials, adjusting the machine as necessary.
  • Set Up and Operate Machines: Set up and operate machines with proper tooling and consumables for current job needs.
  • Optimize Material Usage: Maintain accurate material reporting and plan best material usage to maximize finished products with minimal raw material waste.
  • Utilize Lifting Devices and Mobile Equipment: Use lifting devices and mobile equipment to place materials/parts where needed.
  • Perform Quality Checks: Perform First Piece Inspection and other quality checks before, during, and after production to confirm material and/or product meets specifications.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement and corrective action activities to drive process excellence.
  • Maintain a Safe Work Environment: Perform housekeeping and other duties as assigned to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.

As a Machine Operator 3, you will have the opportunity to work independently and use your judgment to solve complex problems. You will be responsible for setting up and operating complex equipment, monitoring quality, and maintaining accurate records.
