Overview:
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in our Orthopedic Med Surg unit, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality nursing care. This full-time position involves working 72 hours per pay period on the night shift, within a specialized 27-bed unit focused on Orthopedic Joint, Spine, and Bariatric care.

Unit Highlights:
The Orthopedic Med Surg team is composed of dedicated professionals including RNs, Nurse Navigators, LPNs, Certified Nursing Aides, Patient Care Associates, Student Nurse Associates, and Health Unit Coordinators. Our unit is recognized as the "Joint Center," attracting patients from various states seeking expert care in total joint surgeries.

Patient Care Focus:
Our commitment is to provide exceptional customer service and comprehensive post-operative care. This includes:

  • Ambulation support
  • Multi-modal pain management
  • Individualized patient education for home care

We emphasize the importance of patient and family engagement in achieving successful outcomes for Bariatric and Joint/Spine procedures.

Team Collaboration:
Joining our Orthopedic Med Surg team means being part of a collaborative environment where you will work alongside experienced professionals who contribute to unit decisions and improvements. We adopt a multidisciplinary approach, involving surgeons, physicians, pharmacy, case management, and therapy services to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Position Responsibilities:
As an LPN, your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting patient assessments and collaborating with RNs to implement care plans.
  • Adhering to regulatory standards and hospital policies.
  • Performing nursing tasks and accurately documenting patient responses.
  • Monitoring changes in patient conditions and reporting to the RN Team Leader.
  • Participating in quality assurance activities and patient care conferences.
  • Assisting in the orientation of new staff and students.
  • Administering IV therapy and performing advanced patient care treatments as per protocols.

Qualifications:
While no prior experience as an LPN is required, candidates must hold a current license from the Tennessee Board of Nursing. We seek individuals who are committed to providing excellent patient care in a supportive team environment.
