Position Responsibilities
As a Nuclear Medicine Specialist PRN, you will be responsible for:
- Conducting nuclear medicine procedures and assessing image quality, demonstrating proficiency in all facets of nuclear medicine including physiology and technical factors.
- Administering radiopharmaceuticals for both diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.
- Complying with all regulations related to radioactive materials and safety protocols.
- Performing necessary quality control and assurance procedures, including documentation of radiation surveys and wipe tests.
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation as required.
- Utilizing the Radiology Information System effectively for scheduling and billing purposes.
Qualifications Required
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:
- A high school diploma or GED, along with graduation from an accredited nuclear medicine technology program.
- Completion of ongoing training and competencies specific to the patient population served.
Licensure and Certification
Candidates must be registered or eligible for registration with the American Registry of Radiology Technology (RT(N)) or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (CNMT). If eligible, a temporary Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) certification from the Texas Medical Board is required, with the expectation of obtaining permanent certification within one year.
