Role Summary

The Senior Systems Engineer will be responsible for evaluating user requirements, operational concepts, and overarching system architectures to create detailed system specifications. This role involves leading design and development initiatives, providing expert guidance to users in articulating their needs, and conducting feasibility assessments. The engineer will play a pivotal role in integrating requirements, design, and technology while ensuring the incorporation of new plans and systems into existing operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee system requirements and derived specifications to guarantee the successful delivery of production systems aligned with established architectures.
  • Contribute to the formulation of essential systems engineering documentation, including Engineering Plans and Requirements Specifications.
  • Assist in the development of functional requirements and their allocation to hardware, software, and personnel components.
  • Facilitate the resolution of action items arising from various review meetings requiring cross-disciplinary collaboration.
  • Engage in Integrated Product Teams to innovate new capabilities, considering all necessary development and operational factors.
  • Define and implement methods for verifying systems and subsystems against their requirements.
  • Participate in the creation of system design solutions that meet specified requirements and fulfill functional analyses.
  • Review and provide insights into program documentation, ensuring comprehensive and accurate work breakdown structures.
  • Derive lower-level requirements from higher-level specifications, ensuring completeness and clarity.
  • Develop and manage Information Assurance requirements, ensuring compliance with security standards.
  • Conduct risk assessments and manage system integration activities across multiple teams.
  • Utilize validated models and simulations to mitigate risks and optimize system development costs.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of twenty (20) years of experience in systems engineering within similar programs.
  • Proven track record in leading systems engineering initiatives.
  • A Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field from an accredited institution is required.
  • Five (5) years of additional relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement.
