Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate records of staff, child, and substitute attendance, safety checks, and program paperwork.
  • Manage program supplies, snacks, and budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Participate in regular meetings and training sessions to stay updated on departmental procedures and safety protocols.
  • Develop and implement age-appropriate activities, promoting social-emotional safety and development of participants.
  • Resolve conflicts and problems that may arise between children, using redirection and logical consequences.
  • Communicate regularly with parents, school administration, and supervisor via email, phone, and in-person meetings.
  • Maintain a clean and safe program environment, adhering to Park District regulations and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record.
  • Demonstrated skills and competence in contributing to participants' physical, personal, and emotional safety.
  • Knowledgeable in customer relations and appreciation for the public's needs and best interests.
  • Strong leadership and administrative skills, with the ability to multitask and supervise multiple groups.
  • Certification in advanced Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), First Aid, and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) within one month of employment.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
  • Ability to lift at least 40 pounds.
  • Prolonged standing, sitting on the floor, kneeling at child level, and hands-on interaction with children during scheduled program hours.
  • Assist in setting up and taking down program materials/equipment.
  • Respond quickly and appropriately in emergency situations, prioritizing child safety.
