Key Responsibilities:- Maintain accurate records of staff, child, and substitute attendance, safety checks, and program paperwork.
- Manage program supplies, snacks, and budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Participate in regular meetings and training sessions to stay updated on departmental procedures and safety protocols.
- Develop and implement age-appropriate activities, promoting social-emotional safety and development of participants.
- Resolve conflicts and problems that may arise between children, using redirection and logical consequences.
- Communicate regularly with parents, school administration, and supervisor via email, phone, and in-person meetings.
- Maintain a clean and safe program environment, adhering to Park District regulations and procedures.
- Valid driver's license and good driving record.
- Demonstrated skills and competence in contributing to participants' physical, personal, and emotional safety.
- Knowledgeable in customer relations and appreciation for the public's needs and best interests.
- Strong leadership and administrative skills, with the ability to multitask and supervise multiple groups.
- Certification in advanced Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), First Aid, and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) within one month of employment.
- Ability to lift at least 40 pounds.
- Prolonged standing, sitting on the floor, kneeling at child level, and hands-on interaction with children during scheduled program hours.
- Assist in setting up and taking down program materials/equipment.
- Respond quickly and appropriately in emergency situations, prioritizing child safety.
