As a Practical Nursing Specialist, you will engage in essential nursing duties focused on the care and support of individuals facing mental or physical challenges. Your role will be pivotal in enhancing the quality of life for those who require assistance with daily living activities.
Essential Qualifications:
- Must possess a valid Pennsylvania Practical Nurse License or be eligible for the Practical Nurse Licensure Examination.
- Demonstrated proficiency in computer applications, particularly Microsoft Office Suite.
- Capable of accurately inputting health information into electronic medical records systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Your responsibilities will encompass a variety of practical nursing tasks, including but not limited to:
- Implementing nursing care plans through diverse practical nursing and patient care activities.
- Administering and documenting medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
- Monitoring and reporting on the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
- Taking and recording vital signs, collecting specimens, and maintaining progress notes and administrative reports.
- Participating in comprehensive treatment programs designed by interdisciplinary teams, including rehabilitation and habilitation initiatives.
Supervisory Duties:
In this role, you may also oversee a patient care area, ensuring adherence to prescribed treatment protocols and managing unlicensed personnel. You will be responsible for coordinating professional evaluations and emergency care as necessary.
