Position Overview

The Talent Acquisition Specialist - Human Resources is tasked with a range of HR functions, particularly in recruitment, which includes managing applicant tracking systems, overseeing the onboarding process, maintaining employee records, facilitating employee relations, and ensuring compliance with employment laws.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with hiring managers to determine staffing needs and create detailed, compliant job descriptions for various roles.
  • Coordinate the recruitment process, including crafting job postings, managing online listings, scheduling interviews, administering assessments, extending job offers, and preparing onboarding documentation.
  • Facilitate the onboarding experience for new employees, conducting orientation sessions, explaining benefits, and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Evaluate candidates for their suitability in terms of skills, education, competencies, and cultural fit.
  • Revise job descriptions as necessary to reflect changing needs.
  • Provide support for employee relations, assisting both employees and management in resolving workplace issues.
  • Possess knowledge of employee benefits, including Medical, Dental, Vision, and various life insurance options.
  • Assist with the administration of 401k and benefits enrollment.
  • Support the HR department during open enrollment periods.
  • Manage and track employee leaves of absence.
  • Generate HR reports as required.
  • Engage in ongoing HR improvement initiatives and metrics.
  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure accurate HR documentation.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in an HR Generalist role.
  • Strong understanding of human resource policies and procedures.
  • In-depth knowledge of employment and labor regulations.
  • Proficient in problem-solving, analytical thinking, and critical reasoning.
  • A collaborative team player with a results-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent time management skills, capable of meeting deadlines with minimal oversight.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, listening, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Familiarity with technology teams and strategies for developing technology leaders.
  • Highly organized, able to manage heavy workloads and multiple tasks effectively.
  • Proficient in various software applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and HRIS.
  • Exhibit strong ethics, interpersonal skills, and the ability to handle stress effectively.
  • A genuine desire to learn, characterized by initiative and curiosity.
  • Strong presentation skills and knowledge of employment laws such as ERISA, COBRA, ADA, and other relevant federal and state regulations regarding discrimination and Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO).
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and maintain a positive work environment across the organization.

Education and Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in an HR Generalist capacity.
  • 3+ years of experience in Recruitment and Onboarding is essential.
  • Experience in high-volume recruitment.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent post-secondary education preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Certifications such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP are preferred.
  • Prior experience in the construction industry is advantageous.
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish is required.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
