Key Responsibilities:
• Escort patients to and from examination rooms, physician offices, and treatment areas as necessary.


• Document patient information prior to each physician consultation, including vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication updates.

• Gather all required patient records as directed by the physician before treatments or procedures.

• Prepare and maintain examination/treatment rooms, ensuring supplies are stocked as needed.

• Assist physicians during examinations and procedures as requested.

• Administer subcutaneous and intramuscular injections, as delegated by a registered nurse or physician.

• Uphold all disinfection protocols for examination/treatment rooms.

• Respond to patient phone inquiries for referrals to physicians or nurses/pharmacists.

• Process prescriptions and make other patient-related calls as instructed by physicians and registered nurses.

• Notify physicians of patient rescheduling and no-show instances.

• Perform various administrative tasks, such as typing, filing, faxing, chart preparation, and reception duties, as requested by supervisors or physicians.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent. Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred. This is an entry-level position requiring 0-3 years of experience as a medical assistant or nursing assistant. Current Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification is required within three months of hire. Certified Medical Assistant designation is preferred. Some state regulations may necessitate specific certifications to work as a Medical Assistant.
