Patient Service Representative

As a Patient Service Representative at Day Kimball Healthcare, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and administrative support in our outpatient clinical setting. Under the general supervision of the Practice Supervisor/Manager, you will be responsible for initial patient triage, registration, patient intake services, and assisting with direct patient care. You will also perform specialized medical procedures of a routine nature, as dictated by established clinical protocol. Additionally, you will facilitate the smooth functioning of the patient care flow and perform clerical duties as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with direct patient care procedures and related tasks, including checking in patients, assisting with medical examinations, and preparing charts.
- Accurately transcribe physicians' orders and complete all necessary forms, requisitions, and communications required to implement orders.
- Schedule and monitor patient appointments, coordinate routine office activities, and perform administrative functions in support of unit activities.
- Perform routine specialized procedures, including sterile dressing changes under established protocols.
- Maintain stocks of medicines and medical supplies as necessary.
- Assist with orientation of other clerical personnel to the department.
- Educate and advise patients on specified medical issues within established parameters.
Requirements:
Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Current AHA Healthcare Provider CPR certification or equivalent within 3 months of hire required.
- Successful completion of CMA or CNA Program preferred.
- Completion of a Medical Terminology course preferred.
- Prior computer experience required.
- One to three years experience in clinical position preferred.
- One to three years experience as a nursing or medical assistant or in a related field preferred.
- Previous experience in a hospital environment preferred.
