Job Summary:

The ideal candidate will coordinate and manage all aspects of field operations, including construction, site preparation, utility installation, grading, and infrastructure development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • On-Site Management: Oversee and manage all land development activities, including grading, paving, utilities, stormwater management, and other infrastructure work within the master-planned community.
  • Construction Oversight: Monitor contractors to ensure adherence to project schedules, budget requirements, and quality standards.
  • Scheduling and Coordination: Collaborate with project engineers, surveyors, contractors, and local municipalities to coordinate construction activities and inspections.
  • Site Safety: Enforce compliance with safety standards and regulations, ensuring a safe work environment for all workers and site visitors.
  • Quality Control: Conduct regular site inspections to verify that all work meets design specifications, quality requirements, and approved plans.
  • Problem Solving: Address on-site issues promptly, ensuring that project goals are not compromised. Proactively identify and mitigate potential risks or delays.
  • Budget and Documentation: Track costs, project progress, and material usage, providing regular updates to the Director of Land Development. Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily field reports and change orders.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all land development activities comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including environmental and zoning codes.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Communicate effectively with internal teams, contractors, and government agencies to facilitate approvals, inspections, and project updates.
  • Environmental Management: Implement erosion control and stormwater management plans, ensuring sustainable and environmentally responsible practices on-site.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or related field preferred. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in land development, construction management, or civil infrastructure projects, preferably within a master-planned community or large-scale development environment.
  • Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of land development processes, including grading, utilities, stormwater management, and road construction.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to make quick decisions in a dynamic field environment.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and permitting processes in Denver and surrounding areas.
  • Proficiency in construction software, scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with contractors, engineers, and local authorities.
  • Certifications: OSHA certification or similar safety-related credentials preferred.

  • Leadership: Ability to lead and manage a team of contractors and consultants to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Work Environment:

  • Field-Based: Majority of time will be spent on-site at various land development projects.
