EKG Technician

We are seeking an experienced EKG Technician to join our team at AdventHealth Porter. As an EKG Technician, you will be responsible for performing inpatient and outpatient 12 Lead electrocardiograph recordings, holter/event monitor placement/scanning as needed, and treadmill stress testing along with related documentation.
Key Responsibilities- Maintains and reviews equipment, ensuring proper function and machine calibration; informs biomed when malfunctions occur.
- Recognizes and promptly acts upon unusual heart rhythms or patient response by informing primary health care team to ensure patient safety and foster optimal outcome.
- Promptly trouble-shoots and corrects recording instrument malfunction or unusual patient problems which interfere with the recordings.
- Processes patient and department records ensuring documentation of performed tests in accordance with hospital standards.
- Confirms that appropriate patient information is present and complete prior to starting a procedure. Confirms patient identification and understanding of procedure.
- Performs thorough and accurate routine and emergency EKGs as ordered by physician.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Successful completion of established EKG exam during orientation or within 6 months, and annually thereafter.
- Previous patient care experience; on the job training.
- Current BLS certification required from American Heart Association
- Certified Cardiographic Technician (CCT) OR Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician (CRAT) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) within 18 months of starting this role with any AdventHealth facility.
