Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil/Structural Engineer to join our team at Primoris Engineering. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for performing civil/structural engineering assignments associated with designing equipment, components, structures or systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Prepare specifications for project assignments detailing client performance requirements, specific component needs, design requirements, applicable design codes, and vendor drawing requirements.
  • Engineering Analysis: Prepare engineering sketches, perform engineering calculations, and develop analysis models for moderately complex project assignments.
  • Quality Control: Review and/or approve vendor drawings for compliance with project specifications.
  • Communication: Interact and communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and other consultants.
  • Project Management: Set realistic expectations and ensure assigned projects are completed according to schedule and within budget.
  • Compliance: Adhere to company quality standards and follow engineering checking and approval procedures.
  • Health, Safety, and Security: Comply with all company and client health, safety, security, and environmental (HSSE) standards as well as federal and local HSSE regulations.
  • Site Evaluation: Visit job-sites to evaluate site, project requirements, and conditions.
  • Vendor Management: Visit vendor facilities to inspect equipment for compliance with requirements/specifications.
  • Procurement: Prepare inquiry and purchase requisitions as well as bid tabulations associated with equipment purchases.
  • Engineering Checking: Perform checking of engineering drawings and mathematical calculations.
  • Cost Savings: Adhere to safe design practices, while focusing on identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Workload Management: Manage workload, budgets, and project resources, requesting assistance as necessary.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Serve as Engineer in Responsible Charge as assigned and adhere to regulations regarding PE sealing requirements.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering required, Civil/Structural Engineering preferred.
  • Experience: 5+ years relevant experience.
  • Decision-Making: Ability to make decisions or take actions to solve a problem or reach a goal.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to find a solution for or to deal proactively with work-related problems.
  • Communication: Ability to comprehend instructions and request clarification as necessary.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with others verbally and in writing.
  • Project Management: Ability to organize and direct a project to completion.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License: Preference will be given to those holding a Professional Engineer (PE) License.
  • Midstream Facilities Experience: Midstream facilities experience preferred.
  • Pipeline Experience: Pipeline experience preferred.
  • Software Experience: STADD, SACS, MAT 3D, Foundation software experience preferred.
  • Structural Design Knowledge: Working knowledge of the design of steel and concrete structures preferred.
  • Structural Design Codes: Working knowledge of structural design codes (AISC, ACI, API, IBC, etc.) preferred.
