Job Overview

The National Institute for Children's Health Quality (NICHQ) is seeking a highly skilled Associate Project Director to lead the Healthy Start Project Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing project scope, workplan, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with senior project leadership and organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct project scope, workplan, and deliverables for a complex project in collaboration with senior project leadership.
  • Ensure changes to scope are documented, communicated, and approved by senior project leadership or designee.
  • Contribute to cross-team and cross-functional leadership, including advanced communication and collaboration.
  • Manage relationships with funders and partners in collaboration with Senior Project Leadership.
  • Oversee and/or lead periodic reporting.
  • Represent the project and organization at internal and external meetings and conferences.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated leadership in managing people and complex projects in healthcare or related settings.
  • Ability to apply principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.
  • Experience in public speaking and presentation.
  • Ability to think strategically, including process-level thinking to optimize systems and resources.
  • Demonstrated experience cultivating partnerships.
  • Strong communications skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to communicate sensitive information with a variety of stakeholders in a tactful manner.
  • Experience coordinating in-person and virtual events.
  • Demonstrated experience managing large federal grants and/or contracts.
  • Skilled multi-tasker who can prioritize, work autonomously, and in teams, establish timelines, and meet deadlines and deliverables.
  • Proficiency with office systems, computers, and MS Office Suite: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
