Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Associate Project Director to join our team at the National Institute for Children's Health Quality (NICHQ). The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising project teams and overseeing the day-to-day management of complex projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Direction: Direct all aspects of project scope, workplan, and deliverables for complex projects in collaboration with senior project leadership.
  • People Management: Supervise project team members, including interns, project coordinators, project managers, and senior project managers.
  • Fiscal Management: Provide oversight for project budgets and contracts, including tracking questions, concerns, and issues, and devising solutions.
  • Organizational Contributions: Manage additional internal special projects and contribute to cross-project sharing, learning, and consistent integration of organizational support functions.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing people and complex projects in healthcare or related settings.
  • Ability to apply principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.
  • Experience in public speaking and presentation.
  • Ability to think strategically and optimize systems and resources.
  • Demonstrated experience cultivating partnerships.
  • Strong communications skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to communicate sensitive information with a variety of stakeholders in a tactful manner.
  • Experience coordinating in-person and virtual events.
  • Demonstrated experience managing large federal grants and/or contracts.
  • Skilled multi-tasker who can prioritize, work autonomously, and in teams, establish timelines, and meet deadlines and deliverables.
  • Proficiency with office systems, computers, and MS Office Suite: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
