About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst to join our team at Canon Virginia, Inc. in Newport News, Virginia. As a Financial Analyst, you will play a critical role in planning, coordinating, and monitoring project schedules, budgets, resources, and other necessary tasks to ensure successful and timely completion of all projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze financial results of business activities, including financial data and trends.
  • Complete various forecasts and/or budgets for the organization, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Provide analytical and reporting support for annual operations, financial reporting, monthly departmental reports, spending variances, saving plans, and/or budget.
  • Review actual results of financial data against forecasts and/or budgets, investigating and resolving variances as necessary.
  • Create and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, ensuring financial information has been recorded accurately.
  • Gather, organize, and document relevant financial information, including historical sales and financial data.
  • Participate in the annual and quarterly planning process, gathering and analyzing data to inform budgeting and forecasting decisions.
  • Perform revenue/expense analysis, projections, and reports for management, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  • Prepare and review budgets and/or forecasts for the organization, examining estimates for completeness, accuracy, and conformance with procedures and regulations.
  • Review and analyze operating budgets to monitor trends affecting budget needs, notifying appropriate personnel of required changes to ensure conformity.
  • Assist with managing large, complex data sets from varying sources for research, data mining, analysis, and trend identification.
  • Work with department managers to determine budgetary needs, revisions, and other financial planning requirements.
  • Provide periodic reporting on financials and business trends, conducting financial modeling and ad hoc analysis as needed.
  • Apply financial principles to Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and supporting financial systems, ensuring accurate and timely data entry and reporting.
  • Follow established financial policies and procedures, ensuring compliance and accuracy in all financial activities.
About You

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Analyst with a strong background in finance and accounting. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance and 0-2 years of experience in finance, preferably in a manufacturing environment. The candidate should have knowledge of financial and standard costing principles, as well as experience with Oracle, Hyperion, or similar ERP systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is also required.

The successful candidate will possess strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with a high degree of flexibility and adaptability. They will be able to work effectively in a team environment, communicating complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
