Position Overview

As a key member of the finance team, the Financial Analyst will engage in comprehensive economic analysis and research. This role focuses on evaluating financial metrics such as return rates, depreciation, working capital, and investment performance through detailed examination of profit and loss statements as well as income statements. The analyst will prepare insightful reports that present findings and strategic recommendations to management.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct thorough economic research and analysis on financial performance.
- Develop and maintain operational specifications for financial information systems, ensuring effective information flow and document formats.
- Provide analytical support for business development initiatives and monitor performance metrics across various units or divisions.

Qualifications

- A Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s Degree with at least 4 years of professional experience.
- Equivalent qualifications may include:
- Graduation from NNS Apprentice School.
- Completion of Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS).
- An Associate's Degree with 2 years of relevant experience or 4 years of non-exempt experience.
- Military experience at Paygrade E-5 or above.
- High School/GED with a combination of 4 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, shipbuilding, trades, or military service.

Preferred Skills

- Familiarity with Profit & Loss Statements and Earned Value Management.
- Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel, and experience with SAP and COGNOS.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a collaborative approach to teamwork.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, coupled with a customer service mindset.
- Understanding of Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing environments and tackle new challenges effectively.
- Proven track record of meeting critical deadlines in a dynamic setting.
