Job Overview:
The Senior Accounting Analyst will be responsible for overseeing the accuracy of financial transactions and ensuring compliance with established accounting standards. This role requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to analyze financial data effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough research and analysis of general ledger transactions within an automated accounting framework.
- Reconcile financial statements with underlying records, identify discrepancies, and implement corrective measures.
- Utilize word-processing and spreadsheet software to prepare reports and documentation.
- Engage in accounting reconciliation processes to ensure financial integrity.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Proven experience in analyzing and recording financial transactions, along with a solid understanding of automated accounting systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
Education: Completion of accounting courses at a recognized business institution or college.
Experience: Familiarity with SCT Banner and the Commonwealth Accounting and Reporting Systems (Cardinal), as well as experience in governmental accounting practices.
