Physician, Family Medicine and Research Leader

Family Health Centers of San Diego (FHCSD) is seeking a dedicated Physician, Family Medicine and Research Leader to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional healthcare to our patients, while also conducting and partnering on original research initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in family medicine, with experience in conducting independent research and leading research and clinical teams. You will be responsible for generating novel research, seeking extramural funding, and working collaboratively with internal and external collaborators. Additionally, you will serve as a Principal Investigator, providing study leadership and supervision of staff, while adhering to human subjects protection requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
- Completes all required documentation accurately, timely, and thoroughly in accordance with department standards and electronic medical record requirements.
- Follows FHCSD policies and procedures, including cooperating with the timely submission of credentialing and licensing paperwork, maintaining BLS certification, and attending all mandatory meetings.
- Maintains a productivity expectation of 2.40 patients per hour with minimum productivity of 2.20 patients per hour.
- Participates in Clinical Outcomes Program and works towards meeting organizational targets for all metrics.
- Participates in administrative duties, including lab reports, charts, and medication refills reviewed and managed appropriately.
- Participates in on-call schedule in a responsive and timely manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Supervises mid-levels in a timely and responsive manner.
Requirements:
- Board certified in a Primary Care field.
- Current American Heart Association healthcare provider CPR (BLS), or Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Advanced Trauma Life Support, or Advance Resuscitation Training.
- DEA license.
- Graduate from an accredited school of medicine.
- Masters in Research preferred.
- Must possess current unrestricted license to practice in the State of California if applicable.
- 1 year experience working in Family Practice required; experience with underserved, low-income persons, or homeless persons preferred.
- Experience conducting independent research (required).
- Demonstrated record of research dissemination activity, including peer-reviewed publications and scholarly presentations. (required).
- Experience leading research and/or clinical teams in project planning and implementation, as well as data collection, analysis, and interpretation. (required).
- Ability to work effectively with patients from diverse social, cultural, and economic groups.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) capabilities strongly desired.
- Cultural and linguistic sensitivity to populations served required.
- Knowledge of and ability to take a detailed medical history.
- Must possess a demonstrated commitment to community medicine.
Compensation:
In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base range for this position, exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses.
$250,000.00
If you are hired at Family Health Centers of San Diego, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, jurisdictional requirements, skills, education, and/or experience.
We also offer a generous compensation and benefits package.
