Position Overview:

The Senior Financial Control Specialist is responsible for overseeing a diverse range of intricate financial and administrative tasks associated with substantial programs, organizations, or proposals. This role involves assisting in the formulation of budgets, approving budgetary expenditures as necessary, and providing guidance to junior staff members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive financial and program control activities, including budgeting, reporting, estimating, and analysis for extensive programs throughout their entire contract lifecycle.
  • Engage in budget formulation, monitor financial outlays, and perform variance analysis related to costs and schedules, offering insightful recommendations based on findings.
  • Prepare detailed cost-to-complete assessments, including necessary estimates and contract deliverables, while responding to program data requests and participating in reviews of contract terms and statements of work.
  • Compile and present financial program management reviews, providing updates on critical performance metrics.
  • Anticipate and address client needs, serving as a primary liaison for customer interactions and proposing innovative techniques for estimating parameters for proposals.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management or a financial program control setting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions, formulas, and macros for financial tracking and reporting.
  • Ability to perform financial forecasting based on thorough analysis and historical data.
  • Strong analytical thinking skills and capability to conduct trend analysis.
  • Eligibility to obtain a Secret clearance.
  • A Bachelor's degree is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in government contracting.
  • Familiarity with financial modeling, including funding analyses and projections for costs and revenues.
  • Background in proposal support, particularly in responding to RFPs and developing cost volumes for competitive bids.
  • Ability to gather and analyze data from various sources, summarize findings effectively, and interpret contractual requirements.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.

Clearance Requirement:

Selected candidates will undergo a security investigation and must meet eligibility criteria for access to classified information; a Secret clearance is mandatory.
