**Job Summary**

We're seeking a highly skilled Traction Power Engineer to join our multidisciplinary West Coast Systems Engineering team. As a key member of our team, you'll work on delivering an existing and future portfolio of projects, specializing in Rail and Transit Systems.

**Responsibilities**

+ Coordinate and provide technical expertise for mid to large-size projects, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.

+ Assist in maintaining technical client relationships, fostering strong partnerships and trust.

+ Manage day-to-day action items for various deliverables, including meeting minutes and technical reports.

+ Oversee technical requirements from start to finish using IBM Doors or other requirements management software, ensuring seamless project execution.

+ Generate design reports for all phases of system design, author test procedures, and reports in support of design verification and validation.

+ Produce conceptual design, preliminary design, final design, and document packages, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.

+ Support and participate in the Systems implementation phase of projects, including installation, testing, commissioning, cutover, record drawings, and final reports.

+ Assist in procurement efforts by authoring technical requirements and specifications, performing vendor bid evaluations, and supporting vendor selection.

+ Work under general guidance of Senior Engineers and Leads, contributing to discipline department efforts to grow technical expertise.

+ Run simulations, such as Load Flow Analysis, Power Flow, Voltage drop, Harmonic, and Arc Flash, using software and develop reports.

+ Perform grounding calculations and simulations, develop reports for contractors and clients, and work under guidance of Senior Engineers and Leads to develop drawings related to Traction Power Systems, Low Voltage Power distribution, and other traction power related sub-systems.

+ Develop system-wide ductbank drawings, working in close coordination with respective system disciplines, and assist and provide working information to CAD for BIM clash detection.

+ Support the management of System Interfaces and creation of Interface Control Documents (ICDs).

+ Assist technical business development work, providing specialized technical input to simulation studies and design.

+ Develop professional reports, whitepapers, memos, and manuals, showcasing expertise and thought leadership.

+ Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of engineers, assisting reviews, closing comments, and updating drawings.

+ Short-term goal of becoming a Leader in one or more areas of Traction power technology.

+ Provide estimates for the engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements on large, complex projects.

**Salary Range**

The expected salary for this role is $80,000 - $149,000 per year, based on location and individual qualifications.
