Mechanical Engineer

Rantec Power Systems, Inc. is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Los Osos, California. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and packaging power supplies for military, commercial, and industrial environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop packaging to withstand shock, vibration, temperature, and humidity.
- Perform thermal, structural, and vibration analysis using FEA techniques.
- Provide complete mechanical design for manufacturing, including tooling and fixturing.
- Support existing product lines in design and packaging activities, including hardware modifications.
- Participate in generating product concepts and occasional travel to customer facilities.
- Work in a safe professional manner, adhering to all regulatory requirements, including OSHA, EPA, State, and Federal Regulations.
- Arrive on-time and work each day as scheduled, as the Company's success relies on team productivity and adherence to customer product schedules.
Requirements:
- BS Mechanical Engineering degree.
- 5 years of applicable engineering experience, preferably with CAD experience and SolidWorks.
- Thermal, structural, and vibration analysis using FEA techniques desirable.
- Experience with conduction and convection cooled systems.
- Knowledge of circuit board construction, fabrication, and surface mount technology.
- Knowledge of chemical interactions between adhesives, various materials, and solvents.
- Ability to execute duties under pressure from deadlines and attention to detail reviewing and creating documentation.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
