Job Title: Associate Dean of Instruction

Centralia College is seeking a highly qualified Associate Dean of Instruction to join our team. As a key member of our instructional leadership team, you will play a critical role in supporting the development and implementation of academic programs, ensuring student success, and promoting a culture of excellence in teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and evaluate faculty and staff in assigned areas of responsibility, ensuring adherence to college policies and procedures.
  • Provide support and supervision for faculty teaching evening courses, including observations and feedback.
  • Assist in the recruitment, hiring, and orientation of staff and faculty, and facilitate professional development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with faculty to plan, develop, and implement curriculum and instructional activities, including assessment and evaluation.
  • Monitor and respond to course enrollment and enrollment trends, ensuring accurate scheduling of upper division courses.
  • Collaborate with faculty and campus leadership to implement college initiatives promoting student success and improving access for historically underserved populations.
  • Promote faculty/staff input and communication as part of the decision-making process, including course scheduling and program planning.
  • Communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, with various stakeholders, including faculty, staff, students, and community partners.
Requirements:
  • A bachelor's degree in education, business, or healthcare, plus five years of relevant administrative and/or supervisory experience.
  • OR equivalent education and experience.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office to create and edit documents, spreadsheets, and presentations.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in education, business, or healthcare.
  • Experience with Washington State teacher certification requirements.
  • Experience with data collection and analysis.
  • College-level teaching experience.
  • Experience evaluating instructional practices.
  • Demonstrated experience or participation with persons from historically minoritized backgrounds, and a commitment to an inclusive and equitable working/learning environment.
Physical Requirements:
  • Most work is performed in office settings on a college campus.
  • Daily job assignments may require day, evening, weekend, or holiday hours.
Conditions of Employment:

This is a twelve (12) month per year, full-time administrative exempt position. The salary is $94,754 - $94,754 annually, depending on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. The state of Washington provides a comprehensive benefits package for state employees.
