Job Summary:
As a Speech Therapist II SH, Inpatient, you will provide diagnosis and treatment of communication disorders for complex cases, ensuring compliance with standards and regulatory requirements. You will oversee the work of entry-level staff and support community programs.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and administer diagnostic tests and provide individualized treatment to adults and children for various communication disorders, voice and swallowing impairment, and neurological defects.
- Advise physicians and member/caregivers of test results.
- Collaborate with physicians as treatment plans change, provide training for junior therapists, and participate in developing inservice programs for staff development.
- Monitor the work of contract therapists and the treatment of patients in non-Kaiser facilities, serving as a consultant on interdisciplinary teams.
- Develop, implement, and maintain department policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.
- Identify and recommend opportunities to contain costs and improve services, assisting with community programs.
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum two years of previous experience as a Speech Therapist.
- Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology.
- Speech-Language Pathologist License (California).
- National Provider Identifier.
- Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology Certificate.
- Basic Life Support required at hire.
Additional Requirements:
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local requirements.
- Ability to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
