Job Summary

Idaho Power is seeking a skilled Purchasing Agent to join our Supply Chain team. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for providing purchasing support for projects throughout the company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Proactively coordinate with stakeholders to develop internal customer purchase requirements of moderate risk and/or complexity.
  • Develop and execute deal-making strategies to meet business unit cost objectives.
  • Solicit quotes, lead the competitive bidding process, negotiate, and issue purchase orders.
  • Meet business unit cost objectives with a focus on best value to Idaho Power.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, or a related field.
  • 3 or more years of related work experience.
  • Knowledge of current purchasing practices, terms and conditions, negotiation strategies, competitive bid process, and supplier management practices.
  • ERP systems.
  • Business acumen.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Commodity-specific experience in the power utility industry and/or construction.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Time management, decision-making, presentation, negotiation, critical thinking, and organizational and problem-solving skills.
