Job Summary:

As a key member of our healthcare team, the Pediatric Nurse Manager will oversee the delivery of high-quality patient care and nursing services within our pediatric department. This role requires a strong clinical background, leadership skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate the delivery of nursing services and patient care within the pediatric department, ensuring that care meets or exceeds quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve patient satisfaction, staff engagement, and overall departmental performance.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Monitor and analyze departmental metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing evidence-based solutions.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain a high-performing team of nurses, ensuring that they have the necessary skills, knowledge, and resources to provide exceptional patient care.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest clinical practices, research, and regulatory requirements, applying this knowledge to improve patient care and departmental operations.
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively to support high-quality patient care and departmental operations.
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to achieve organizational goals and objectives.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Minimum three (3) years of clinical nursing experience, with at least one year of leadership experience in a pediatric setting.
  • BSN or bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or completion of a relevant bachelor's degree within two years of hire.
  • Registered Nurse License (California) and Basic Life Support certification.
Additional Requirements:
  • Demonstrated knowledge of quality improvement and clinical care delivery processes, staffing, and budgeting.
  • Knowledge of Nursing Practice Act, JCAHO, and other federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • ACLS certification and/or experience in Acute Care Pediatrics.
  • Masters degree in Nursing Leadership or a related field.
  • Certified Pediatric Nurse (CPN) or Master of Science in Nursing Leadership (MSN) preferred.
