Senior Supply Chain Planner

Lorenz Engineering, a division of The Salem Group, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Supply Chain Planner to join their corporate team in Pleasant Prairie, WI.

This role is critical in managing critical production components in support of production schedules, while driving process improvements and cost reductions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage critical production components that significantly impact the company.
  • Procure goods and services such as MRO, raw materials, equipment, tools, and supplies.
  • Analyze forecasts, actual demand, and inventory to make recommendations to manufacturing teams.
  • Collaborate with production to implement and adjust production schedules.
  • Evaluate vendors for performance against established specifications and maintain scorecards.
  • Develop and oversee SOP procedures for the procurement department, including training initiatives.
  • Review bid proposals, negotiate contracts, and ensure they fall within budgetary and authority limitations.
  • Maintain item costs, lead times, and vendor information in ERP systems (Sage/MAS 500).
Qualifications:
  • Strong attention to detail with a high sense of urgency.
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, vlookups, data consolidation, and reporting).
  • Solid understanding of ERP/MRP systems.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience in sourcing products and working with vendors to achieve cost savings.
  • Proven ability to clearly communicate departmental goals and objectives with ownership and senior management.
  • A drive to constantly improve processes and a desire for professional growth within the company.
  • College degree preferred, but 5-10 years of progressive experience in purchasing, supply chain, or inventory management is highly valued.
