You will also be responsible for determining appropriate radiographic techniques, securing patient histories, and adhering to safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate Radiology Equipment: Operate radiology equipment, including X-ray machines, CT scanners, and MRI machines, to produce high-quality images.
  • Position Patients: Position patients correctly for procedures, using immobilization and support devices as needed.
  • Secure Patient Histories: Secure patient histories, including reason for prescribed tests, to ensure accurate examination performance.
  • Adhere to Safety Standards: Adhere to all accepted safety standards and practices to ensure patient safety and quality patient care.
  • Maintain Patient Records: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including examination results and patient histories.
  • Perform Clerical Duties: Perform clerical duties, including answering telephones, scheduling examinations, and giving instructions to patients.
  • Communicate with Patients: Communicate effectively with patients, providing excellent care and ensuring patient satisfaction.
  • Perform Quality Control Tasks: Perform quality control tasks, including daily sensitometry of processors and annual inspections.
  • Prepare Contrast Media: Prepare contrast media as needed, following department standards and manufacturer recommendations.
  • Label Radiology Images: Label radiology images accurately, following department standards and criteria.
Requirements
  • Education: Graduate from an accredited AMA School of Radiology.
  • License: IDNS license.
  • Certification: CPR certification and American Registry of Radiologic Technologists registered (ARRT).
  • Skills: Knowledge of Health Information System, basic knowledge of radiology equipment, and ability to work under stressful conditions.
Working Conditions
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and/or move patients, ability to work under stressful conditions, and ability to deal with extremely ill patients.
  • Working Hours: Ability to work during site hours of operation.
